Level 2 IBCT Training Information
Level 2 training involves observation of your IBCT work with couples by an IBCT consultant. It is designed for therapists who have successfully completed Level 1 training and want to develop greater competence and confidence in delivering IBCT.
Requirements
To complete Level 2 training, you must:
Be observed working with at least 2 couples
Complete 20 sessions across at least 2 couples covering the major phases of IBCT — initial assessment, feedback, and active intervention
Achieve a rating of 4 or better on the IBCT Rating Scale, demonstrating a standard of competence in delivering IBCT
Completing Level 2 earns you a higher standard of IBCT competence on the IBCT website than Level 1, and qualifies you for 25 APA CE credits.
Training Options
Level 2 training is available in two formats:
Single-person training
An IBCT consultant meets with you individually for 25 hour-long sessions, observing and discussing your tapes together.
Cost: $4,500 — payable over time in three payments of $1,500
Two-person training
An IBCT consultant meets with you and one other trainee for 25 sessions, plus 20 additional hours of observation of each trainee's tapes.
Cost: $4,000 per trainee — payable in three installments ($1,500, $1,500, and $1,000)
Student discount: Therapists currently enrolled in an active training program in the mental health professions (such as psychology or social work) are eligible for a 20% discount.
